Furnace School
These pages of the Furnace School, which was most likely held in the Furnace Church (Now know as Springfield Freewill Baptist Church), came from the trunk of Easter Ellen Burgess Pennington, who was married to Alonzo Jackson Pennington. She was a teacher (probably the only teacher) at Furnace School in 1902. They are in the possession of Mary Ellen Pennington Rogers, a Granddaughter of Easter Ellen Burgess Pennington. (Submitted by Kawatha "Kay" Koonce & Mary Ellen Pennington Rogers)
