Lewis, John Y.: My Lamar County brick wall concerns my gg grandfather John Y. Lewis. Census reports have listed him born in Kentucky and also Tennessee in 1812. I know that he was in Alabama by 1837 married to Jane Unknown, possibly Keown the daughter of Thomas Keown. Their oldest son was my great grandfather Robert Dowling Lewis. I believe that John Y. Lewis is the brother of two other Lamar County men, Gideon Lewis born 1819 and Martin M. Lewis born 1817, but I haven't found proof as yet. I would love to share information with anyone connected to these men. Thanks! Contact: Tracie Simon email@example.com
