MORTON, James M.:  I'm writing this, hoping to correct some misinformation.  James M. Morton is my ancestor.

He is the son of Dr. James B. Morton and Mary Malloy (not Mary Brown as commonly thought).

The Death Certificate of James M. Morton's younger brother, Dr. Thomas Clark Morton, states his mother's name as Mary Malloy.

There is a genealogy in the Vernon library done by Ellie Cumi Morton that lists Dr. James B. Morton's wife as Mary Brown.  This information is incorrect and has spread far and wide.  I hope we can correct some of it.

Thank you,

Dere
