Curtis: Charles

Looking for marriage location (May 1821) and death information for Charles (DOB ca. 1799) and Esther KELLOCH (DOB 1802) CURTIS.  They were enumerated in 1860 living with three children in Frankfort, and as town paupers living in Swanville in 1870.  He was enumerated again in 1880 as a pauper living in Swanville.  She probably died between 1870-1880 and he surely between 1880-1900.

Thanks for any help.

Bartlett/Lyon: Chris Smith

Is anyone researching the Bartlett or Lyon family in Belmont/Searsmont?  Mr. John Bartlett Jr. married Climena Lyon in Belmont in 1823.  I'm trying to link this John to John Bartlettt and Abigail Ladd who lived in Searsmont through the 1850 census.  And then this John who married Abigail Ladd back to Timothy Bartlett of Mt. Vernon.  Climena's father Cornelius Lyon (wife Susannah Ladd) was in Belmont in 1820 before moving to Alexander. John and Climena Bartlett's family record is in Alexander records but I believe it has the wrong birth year for John Bartlett.

Thank You. Chris Smith

Atkinson: Linda Atkinson

I am looking for the parents of Cyrus Foss ATKINSON, born about 1807. He lived in Montville from about 1815 to 1832 when he moved to Burnham. Thomas Atkinson born about 1770 came to Montville from Wayne, Kennebec, Maine about 1815. Can anyone confirm that Thomas is the father of Cyrus?

Thank you for any help you can give,

Linda Atkinson

LOGAN: Robert Logan

My second great-grandfather was Alexander Logan;  married Elizabeth True in Belfast in 1826. He died in Belfast in 1860 (run over by a stagecoach), and she remarried B.M. Hawkins in 1869. They presumably lived around Waldo, and were probably sheep farmers.  Most of their children migrated to central California.  Alexander was originally from Ireland, and arrived in the U.S. around 1820.  I don’t know where they were buried.  Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Robert Logan

MALLORY/ MALLERY: Richard Mallory

I am looking for information on a Richard Mallory/Mallery and his wife Nancy. I have been lead to believe Richard was from Canada.

They were apparently on the 1850 Census for Waldo County.

I recently discovered information in New Brunswick that may link Richard Mallery to my New Brunswick line and I am trying to trace the Richard in Waldo County to New Brunswick.

Any information would be welcome or a contact for anybody currently researching this Richard Mallory line.

Regards Mike Mallery

LENFEST: John Gove Lenfest

My family hails from Union. They were descendents of Scots settling in Nova Scotia during the military campaigns against the French in Quebec.
Paternal grandfather George H Cameron's uncle was John Gove Lenfest. John Lenfest served with the Twentieth Maine under Joshua Chamberlain. He was captured during the mop up action after Gettysburg and perished in Libby Prison in Richmond that following January. He is said to be buried in Liberty on the Hiram Evens farm. Can you tell me anything about the location of the Hiram Evens farm? Or could you kindly forward this inquiry to the owners of that farm?

Below is a link and quote with my source information:

http://boards.ancestry.netscape.com/localities.northam.usa.states.iowa.counties.cerrogordo/115.258.400.404.1.1.2.2.1.2/mb.ashx

"Anyway John Gove Lenfest's father was Nicholas Lenfest who married Hannah Gove. She was his first wife. She and her infant son are buried on the Hiram Evens farm in Liberty, Me. The is a civil war marker there too, for John Gove Lenfest.

ROUNDY: Archie Roundy

I'm looking for any information that I can find about Archie L. Roundy of  Monroe, Maine.
My mother in law was adopted in 1939 as a baby and he is listed as the biological father on her birth certificate so we're trying to find out whatever information we can for her.
There is some information on the Roundy family on this page
http://www.geni.com/people/Archie-Roundy/6000000014506987215?through=6000000014506921106
and I found his marriage records
First marriage to Gussie Cunningham
http://www.mainegenealogy.net/individual_marriage_record.asp?id=234983
And his second marriage to Caroline A. Finney or ILES
http://www.mainegenealogy.net/individual_marriage_record.asp?id=82261
I also found his draft registration card online where it says he is employed as a garageman in Monroe with his sister Cora Ritchie also in Monroe listed as his nearest relative but have come up blank other than that.  Thanks for any information you can provide.

DAVIS: Galdys Mildred Davis  My grandmother was Gladys Mildred Davis born July 21 1901 and died on Jan 5 1993 to Arnold H and Annie (Thomas) Davis. She married James Foshay and had two children with him. Fern who was born in  February 1921 and died on January 11 1936 and Henry who was born on Sept 15 1924 and died on Oct 27 1993. What I am looking for here is the cause of death on Fern's death cerificate ( I know the story) and was wondering if there was a divorce record for James and Gladys. I know she said she divorced him shortly after Fern's death. I also would like a little background information on James, namely his birthdate, deathdate, and their wedding date as well.

Here's where maybe I can help you out with Arnold and Annie's family. I have a family Bible and it gives information about their wedding which took place on May 8 1883 in Liberty by G H Cargill Justice of the Peace. They were both from Freedom at the time. They had several children: Harry S born May 27 1884 died in 1912 of infantile paralysis. Almon G born November 24 1885, He married Gertrude Currin of Waltham. Now here's where I need some information. They had a daughter Susan E who died May 22 1898 at the age of 13 mos and 3 days. Also they had a son Foster A who died at the age of 2 years and 19 days. I have very little information on them, as a matter of fact I just learned of Foster's existence today reading this Bible.

Arnold's family I may be able to help you out on too. In the South Freedom cemetery there is listed an Ann S Davis as wife of Arnold.....she was born in 1837...This Ann was a sister to Arnold H Davis and daughter of Samuel T and Mary (Keen) Davis.

I can give you information about Samuel and Mary's offspring as I have it.

Edward K Davis born Sept 1 1834

Ann S Davis born June 3 1837

John Davis born January 6 1840

Almon Davis born August 26 1842

Eunice Davis born August 4 1844

Arnold H Davis born June 8 1847

William Davis born July 18 1851

Also from the family Bible I can tell you that Annie Thomas was born on May 8 1865

I have a letter from the Waldo County Registry of Deeds office naming Annie S Davis of Freedom executor of Arnold H Davis' estate on June 14 1921, but I am not sure when he actually passed away as well as Annie. I would love some information on that if it isn't too much trouble.

If you are interested I have a wedding announcement for Louise Augusta Carr and Fred Allen Fuller
I also have obituaries for : Eliza Sylvester
Martha (Archer) Hutchins w/o C.P. Hutchins
                                       Frank Z Fuller
Dora A Hall w/o Judson E Hall of Montville
Carl Delany s/o Dr. M Delany of North Palermo
I have a death notice for Mrs. Susan Bragdon age 52 of Freedom and I believe that is from 1889 and I think she is somehow related to Annie. Annie received this family Bible from Allen E Bragdon for Christmas of 1893.

HARVEY: Paul Harvey I am trying to find any information you might have on the Harvey family of Belfast.  William Harrison Harvey son of Josiah and Sara was my husband’s father.  He and my mother-in-law divorced when my husband was 18mths old or so, which would have been around 1953.  He was raised by his mother who returned to her home state of Oklahoma.

We have two young adult daughters that would like to know about their Harvey relatives and to know if there are any cousins, etc.   I have done extensive research on my side of the family, even published a book, and have done research on my mother-in-laws family.

Here is what I know about the Harveys:

William Harrison Harvey was born 16 Sep 1917 died 8 Jan 1995, he did remarry, his parents are

Josiah Everett Harvey born 2 May 1896 died 14 Nov 1974 married Sara Frances Lear on 8 Aug 1916, his parents

                                                Sara born 14 Aug 41890 died 16 Mar 1975

George L Harvey born 23 Mar 1860 died 30 Nov 1946 married Ida Bowen on 10 Sep 1887

                                                Ida born 23 Jun 1867 died 14 Feb 1925

I have the Harvey line back to John born 1750 died 20 Dec 1838 married Lucy Knowlton 24 Jan 1789

                                                Lucy born 1761 died 11 May 1837

From what I can find most of the family was born and stayed close to Belfast or Swanville.

If you by chance know any living relatives and you think they would like to contact us, I can be reached at ptharvey@bellsouth.net or phone 601-408-3273.

LENFEST: Peter Lenfest     I am looking for the "official" list of burials in the Lenfest Cemetery.  I thought I had seen it and of course did not make a copy of it.  Now I can't find one again.  I need to prove where Peter Lenfest (died 1849) and his wife Margaret (1876) are buried and also if his father Peter Lenfest (died 1820) and wife Lydia (died 1829) are buried there.  They are my 3rd and 4th great grandparents.  Thanks for any help.  Sandra

SILLEY (CILLEY):  Benjamin Silley I am looking for information about the McClure/Wentworth Cemetery in Waldo County, Maine.  My ancestor, Benjamin Cilley (or Silley or Selley, depending on the record), was buried in the cemetery according to the Sons of the American Revolution Patriot & Grave Record Index.  I was wondering if you could point me to a person to contact to confirm the grave location - in other words, whoever is holding the cemetery records.  Internet searches aren't providing much information, I'm afraid, and there's nothing on Find-A-Grave and it sees like your group might know who I could contact.

If you can help at all, I appreciate it.

Thanks so much,
Teresa Walle
