Contributed by Don Gardner. This information was provided by someone who lives near the cemetery to Faye Karna, who forwarded it to me. It is said that back in the 1930's nobody had any money to buy grave markers to mark the burial sites. So, to mark the spot, if it was a young person, a lilac bush was planted, and if it was an older person, a "poor man's bush" was planted. The poor man's bush is a low growing greenery.
