The marker stone was installed by Martin Hansen and Clarence Haugen, both of these men are now deceased.

Kermit Hansen remembers his dad, Martin, saying that most of these people died from a flu that was brought home from WWI. It was called the Flu of 1913. Also, one of the men died due to a runaway horse.
