Mrs. Vendler (Coral A.) Johnson, 71, Velva, died
Thursday in a Minot hospital. Memorial service Monday at 11 a.m., United
Methodist Church, Velva. Graveside service and burial following Monday at 3
p.m., Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Makoti.
Coral Johnson was born Aug. 13,
1911 at Minot and was reared in Otis Township, McLean County. She graduated from
a beautician's school in Minot and worked as a beautician until marrying Donald
I. Gardner July 23, 1935, in Minot. He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad,
and they lived at Cathay, Ryder, Carrington and New Town before moving to
Washburn in 1962. Mr. Gardner died July 26, 1973. She continued to live at
Washburn until marrying Vendler Johnson Oct. 5, 1977, at Velva where they since
have lived.
Mrs. Johnson was active in church and community affairs.
Surviving: husband; son, Donald Gardner, Minot; six grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Irene Schultz, Portland, Ore.
