The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 in the First Lutheran Church, Parshall, for Ernest L. Roberts, 66, rural Raub, who died Friday in a Minot hospital where he had been a patient for three days.

Rev. James Haller will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens of Minot. Williamson Funeral Home, Parshall, has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Roberts was born May 11, 1899, at Flandreau, S. D. and went to Ryder as a child. He served during World War I and attended the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, after his discharge.

He taught school in the Ryder and Roseglen area and since his marriage to Mabel Vold at Grand Forks Dec. 5, 1923, had lived on a farm at Raub.

Mr. Roberts was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church at Raub and belonged to the American Legion Gladwin Post No. 296 of Raub and Roseglen. The post was named after Mr. Roberts’ son, Gladwin, who died in France during World War II.

Mr. Roberts had been active in many civic affairs and served on local boards including the Farmers Union Elevator Board at Parshall.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Clifford (Eunice) Rostvedt, Minot; two sons, Donald of Raub, and Larry of Los Angeles; nine grandchildren; and three brothers, Floyd of Ryder, Orlo of Makoti and Marlin of Minot.

His parents and two sisters also preceded him in death.
