Marlin Roberts

Marlin Wilford Roberts, 79, formerly of Ryder and Minot, died Sunday in Ashland, Wis., where he had been living since 1979. Funeral today at Ashland. Memorial service Monday at 2 p.m., chapel of Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Burial Ryder Cemetery in the spring.

Mr. Roberts was born Dec. 17, 1902, in Flandreau, S. D. As a boy he came with his parents to homestead in the Ryder area. He was reared there, and was a farmer and cattle rancher in the area throughout his adult life. He and his family moved to Minot in the mid-50s, but he continued to maintain his farming interests. Since moving to Ashland, he had lived with a son and at a nursing home.

He was a member of the Ryder Presbyterian Church.

Surviving: sons, Justin, North Platte, Neb., Marlin, Jr. Ashland, and Roger, Washington, D. C.; and eight grandchildren.
