Mrs. Lawrence Vold, 45, 1003 Lincoln Drive, died Saturday in a
local hospital where she had been ill for more than three months.
She was
born in South Dakota and moved to Ryder, N. D., with her parents when she was
six years old. She taught school at garrison and Raub, N. D. before becoming
postmistress at Raub in 1927.
Mrs. Vold was married at Minot in 1929 and
with her husband came to Grand Forks. She was a member of the United Lutheran
church here.
During the past three years, Mrs. Vold assisted the county
welfare office by taking care of underprivileged children. She had taken care of
five children and at the time of her death had one in her home.
Mrs. Vold
is survived by her husband and one daughter, Lorraine. Other relatives are her
mother and stepfather of Ryder; four brothers and one sister.
Funeral
services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the United Lutheran Church with
Rev. Robert Otterstad officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery
and the body will lie in state at Hanson-Anderson chapel Tuesday evening and
Wednesday until the services.
