We encourage our African-American
members of the community to please contribute family histories
and photos. We are truely dedicated to the preservation of history.
Please contact the Delta
County Coordinators. This month PBS has an excellent series
entitled, African American
Lives. A great historical website is also to be found at PBS, African
American World. Are you a descendant of one of the early 1880 Ancestral African-American Head of Household? Are you a descendent of one of the early 1900 Ancestral African-American Head of Household? A Delta County Anonymous Volunteer transcribes and types index of the Brand Book. See links to the Brands Book One Index A to K and Brands Book One Index L to Z. We greatly appreciate your contribution to the website. |

Tommie
R. Robnett-Swope has graciously
allowed Delta County to display her painting of Cooper Lake in former
days. The painting is based on a photograph of her father's favorite
fishing hole. Mrs. Swope has researched her Delta County ancestors,
the Robnett family for several years and plans to contribute more
of their stories. See
link .
Robbie Anderson writes to us with corrections to the Shiloh Cemetery data and provides information on the Griffith family unmarked graves. See link. Cooper Review Articles have been indexed. Many thanks to our volunteer, Sara Williams. Index is linked to newspaper images. See Newspaper Index. Marriage Book One has been indexed. Index is linked to microfilmed images of marriages. See Marriage Index. Barbara Lancaster Tsirigotis, author of "Little Known Records of Delta County, Texas," writes to Delta County . . . See story. |
