PECAN. — A post settlement in Delta County, 325 miles northeast of Austin, 10 miles southwest of Cooper, the county seat, and 12 northeast of Black Jack Grove, the nearest railroad station. Greenville is the nearest banking point. It contains 2 steam grist mills and cotton gins, and ships cotton. Population, 100. Mail, tri-weekly.
