at the age of sixteen just one
month after this letter was written. Mary Wingfield McKisick was at
Sacred Heart boarding school

Babe Greer as teacher in 1868--an article from the Meridian Tribune
of 18 FEB
1949. It was written by a cousin of mine about my great-grandfather's
teaching
experience in 1868. The folks involved lived in Bosque Co, but my ggf
was
temporarily living (and teaching) across the Brazos in Hill Co. A few
Bosque Co.
kids would cross the river to attend class with him.

Salve Recipe:
For those in Bosque County who may have lost their
handed-down recipe from
Dr. Mathis for his salve. Don't know exactly when he was
there but in several
letters written by Lucy Wilm of Morgan in 1903-4 he was
mentioned as being
their doctor.
